Danny Bodden won Event 6 of the North Yorkshire Pool Grand Prix played at The Acomb. He took the spoils after beating Simon Newby after semi-final opponent Paul Thomas went in-off from the black in the deciding frame. The other losing semi-finalist was Dave Fisher.
Simon Newby's poor start to the Acomb Elite Singles League continued when he was beaten 7-3 by John Richardson. Early pace-setter Paul Sullivan recorded another win, beating Steve Bradley 7-2. In Division 1 three players are on 100% records. Allan Harding, Steve Bradley and Craig Fox have all won their opening three matches while Graham Bielby has had a surprisingly poor start and lies bottom of the table without a win so far. Simon Stead leads Division 2 having won both his opening matches. Paul Walton, Russ Barrass and Steve Wood are all hot on his heels as they trail Stead by a single point. Mike Reid and Donna Smith lead the field in Division 3 with 2 wins each. Michelle Gatenby is close behind as a last frame defeat to Tom Wilson cost her a second successive victory. Division 4 leader Steve Thomas has a 5-point lead over nearest pursuer Mick Green but Rich Train, with a game in hand, looms ominously in 3rd place having lost only 2 frames in his first brace of matches. Steve Scott snr heads Division 5 with 3 out of 3 so far. A last frame win against Carl Littlefair maintaining his perfect record.
PD Plastics York Sunday Pool League had a free week for the World Cup final but organised an open singles event at The Acomb which attracted 27 players. The winner was league secretary Steve Bradley who beat Simon Newby 3-2 in the final. Bradley beat Joe Goddard 3-0 in the semi-final while Newby was taken all the way by Steve Thomas in his last 4 encounter.

Just an observation, but wasn't it Danny v Newby in the final, with me and Paul T being the losing semi finalists?

As I said earlier most of the dress up games are free to play online which is a good thing. The bad thing is that there are so many of them online that it is hard to choose. If you do not believe just type in dress up games for girls in the search field of your favorite search engine and you will see what I am talking about.
