That's nice and useful Simon!!! A more pertinent question would be... whereabouts in York do you live? And are you willing to travel across town to play for someone, or would you prefer somewhere local? The majority of the top teams play for either Acomb (on the West side of York) or Cueball (near the centre of York)... although there are plenty of other venues around town. The best thing to do would be to have a look at the league tables and see if any of the venues are close by... if so, go along on a Wednesday or Sunday (depending on which league table you're looking at) and introduce yourself. Or, if you're willing to travel (assuming you don't live close by), then there's usually plenty of people playing pool in The Acomb and they don't all bite! Plus, the pool is free providing you're putting money behind the bar!

i live down on hanover street west, down on leeman road. Preferably i'd play for someone local, but would be willing to travel, within reason of course. I used to be a lot better than i am at the minuite, as i havnt played too much since starting uni, but i still consider myself to be a decent player, and because i'm young i'm always learning My highest break in snooker is 37 if that gives you any indication.... I'm still not too familiar with the area, so any help would be appreciated Cheers

Right, I have no idea if any of these teams are looking for new players or not, but the closest venues to you (that I know of) are: The Ainsty 59 Boroughbridge Road YO26 5SQ The Pack of Cards Lindsey Avenue YO26 Bootham Tavern 29 Bootham YO30 White Horse (Bootham) 6 Bootham YO30 The Post Office Social Club 26 Marygate YO30 7BH and the following 2 aren't a million miles away: King William Barkston Avenue Acomb YO26 5DH The Acomb Kingsway West Acomb YO24 3BA If you need to know where they are, google them and have a look at the maps that come up. Like I say, no idea if they're looking for players or not, but there's no harm in going along. Also, if you look at the league tables you'll find out which night those venues have teams playing. Hope that helps and good luck finding a team!
